Tallahassee, FL - April 2, 2003 - The Creative Child Learning Center of Ft. Lauderdale announced today that SouthWood, an Arvida community in Tallahassee, will be the home of the new location of an award-winning pre-school and after-school center. The family-owned and operated center offers an education-based preschool program for infants thru pre-kindergarten. The 9,000-square-foot $2 million dollar center will be located on a four-acre section of the SouthWood Education Village. It is scheduled to open in August, 2003.

Creative Child Learning Center has been honored with the Gold Seal Award of Excellence, a prestigious award given only to the top performing schools in the country. For two consecutive years, it has been voted one of the best pre-schools in Broward County through South Florida Parenting Magazine.

Creative Child Learning Center provides a loving, educational environment for infants thru pre-kindergarten. The "High Reach" curriculum, applauded by leading psychologists, is designed to promote hands-on learning and conducts unique programs such as the kindergarten readiness program and the Camp Explorer after-school program for students K-5. A variety of programs are offered to best meet the needs of parents including a five full-day option, five half-day option or a choice of any three full days. Director Gina Johnston, relocating from the CCLC Coral Springs location, brings 25-years of experience to the new center with a 200 child capacity.

A 30-foot oak tree, a signature of the SouthWood property, will grace the front of the center. While following the classic architectural style of SouthWood, safety, abundant natural light and fresh air are key components in the unique design of the facility. The first phase of the project includes a 9,000 square foot U-shaped building that forms a center courtyard. The unique courtyard will feature extraordinary playgrounds and an interactive water park. Also within the courtyard setting will be separate play areas for infants, "wobblers" (the one to two year-olds), toddlers and pre-schoolers with an outdoor classroom/picnic area, both covered for use in rain or shine. The company has attended to the smallest details including researching which sand offers the most playability for young children.
