About Our VPK Florida Program

Florida was one of the first states to recognize how important the year before kindergarten truly is. That commitment led to the creation of the state's free prekindergarten program, which provides all four-year-old's in Florida with access to high-quality early education regardless of family income. Since the program began in the 2005- 2006 school year, more than 3.1 million children have benefited from the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program, gaining the skills and confidence they need for the years ahead. Research from the Florida Department of Education shows that children who participate in VPK are much more ready for kindergarten than children who do not participate, giving families reassurance that this year truly makes a difference. Our VPK Florida program is thoughtfully designed to reflect this mission. We focus on early literacy, early math, critical thinking, and social-emotional development so your child feels confident, capable, and supported as they prepare to enter school and begin their kindergarten journey.

From VPK to Kindergarten: Supporting School Readiness

The goal of Florida's voluntary prekindergarten initiative is to ensure that children are intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically ready to enter school and ready to learn. Our VPK program supports this goal by helping your child build strong foundations that carry forward into kindergarten and beyond. Through manageable class sizes, clear instructions, and engaging learning experiences, VPK students develop independence, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. Our instruction is guided by Florida performance standards, ensuring high literacy standards and meaningful learning outcomes that support long-term success.

Early Literacy and Language Development

Early literacy sits at the heart of our VPK Florida program. Your child participates in daily reading, writing, journaling, and discussion activities that help them become confident communicators and strong readers.

Math, STEM, and Critical Thinking

Our lesson plans include hands-on STEM activities that invite children to think deeply, ask questions, and solve problems. Early exposure to STEM concepts helps children develop reasoning skills and confidence in their thinking, supporting long-term academic success and a positive relationship with learning.

Social Skills, Confidence, and Emotional Growth

VPK is about more than academics. It is also about helping your child feel confident in who they are. Through group activities, collaborative projects, and guided interaction, children in VPK learn how to work together, manage time, and build a positive self-concept. These experiences strengthen communication, teamwork, and self-confidence that support success both in school and in life.

Monthly Themes and Hands-On Learning

Our VPK lesson plans follow engaging monthly themes such as Furry and Feather Friends, Splash and Dig, and Healthy You. These themes help learning feel meaningful, connected, and fun. During Healthy You month, for example, children explore nutrition and physical activity, supporting whole child development while building healthy habits that last.

VPK Registration and Child's VPK Certificate

Parents must complete VPK registration through Florida's online Family Portal and apply for their child's VPK certificate. Processing time for a child's VPK certificate may take up to ten calendar days. Families must register in the county where they plan for their child to attend school. Parents with questions about eligibility, re-enrollment, or VPK specialized instructional services are encouraged to contact their local Early Learning Coalition, which will be able to offer guidance and support.

Why Families Choose Our Florida Preschool Programs

Families choose our preschool program because they want more than early education. They want a place where their child feels excited to arrive each morning, supported through every stage of growth, and inspired to discover who they are and who they can become. Parents often tell us that from the moment they walk into our school, they can feel the care, intention, and joy that shape each child's day.

Families trust us because:

  • Our VPK providers meet higher education and accreditation standards required by Florida law.
  • Class sizes are thoughtfully designed to support individualized learning and meaningful teacher connection.
  • Our curriculum aligns with Florida performance standards and emphasizes high literacy expectations.
  • Children build early literacy, math, and critical thinking skills proven to support educational success.
  • Our schools are accredited and deeply committed to quality early education.

At the heart of it all, families choose our program because they see their child growing with confidence, curiosity, and joy in a place that truly feels like home.

I love everything about this school! My daughter started here when she was 1 and is about to be 5, it was the best experience we could ask for when introducing her to a classroom setting. We highly recommend it to any new parents searching for a safe environment, involved teachers, and lifelong friends for their little ones. Not only do we love all of the teachers but also Ms. Kim and Ms. Jessica who are constantly showing up with warmth and guidance to us parents. - Roshni and Paul Beharry

The atmosphere at the Coral Springs location is extremely welcoming. All the teachers and staff are kind, nurturing, and make you feel at ease. We are thrilled with our decision to attend Creative Child for the past two years and sad to leave, but are happy knowing that we made a great choice for our daughter.

We have had such a wonderful experience at this daycare since our son started. The teachers are incredibly warm, friendly, and nurturing, making the transition seamless for him. He settled in quickly and comes home happy every day, which speaks volumes about the care and attention he receives. The facility is always clean and well-maintained, creating a safe and inviting environment for the children. I’m also very impressed with their well-structured and engaging curriculum—it’s both educational and fun, fostering his curiosity and development in meaningful ways. Communication with the staff has been excellent, and we truly feel like they care about each child’s well-being and growth. We are so grateful to have found such a fantastic place for our son!

All of my daughter’s teachers are memorable and so caring! We’ve had the pleasure of connecting with Carolina, Assma, Taylor, Catty and Michelle so far! They all communicate so well with what’s going on in her classroom and her progression. Receiving photos and videos throughout the day is of course our favorite thing. Miss Kim and Miss Jessica are amazing people and they’re so helpful too. We love love love their playground outside too!

A Wonderful School with Amazing Teachers! This is Penelope’s second year at this daycare, and we couldn’t be happier! The environment is warm and welcoming, and the staff is truly exceptional. Many of them have been there for years, which speaks volumes about how much they love what they do. The care, affection, and dedication they show to the children every day are truly heartwarming. This year, Penelope is lucky to have Miss Asmaa and Miss Tayler as her teachers, and they are absolutely amazing! They always greet her with warmth, making sure she feels loved and comfortable in class. The kids are constantly engaged with fun activities, creative projects, and exciting class parties every Friday. It’s a joy to see Penelope so happy and thriving in such a fantastic school. We are beyond grateful for this incredible team and highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a nurturing, loving, and engaging environment for their child! Miss Torgerson
